PERMITS - CORPORATE AND SPECIAL EVENTS RESOURCES
When licenses and permits are required to complete an event, there are specific offices you must apply and complete prior to holding your event or social function. The following list is pertinent to each county of resources and in some instances individual cities.
FIRE DEPARTMENTS: City-County - Apply for Tents, Elaborate Decorations, Theater Sets and Fabrics, Occupancy of Event Rooms, Seating, Candles, Pyrotechnics (Fireworks-may also require a permit from Dept of Alcohol, Tobacco & Fire Arms).
SIGNS & BANNERS: City Zoning Departments
PUBLIC SAFETY AND POLICE DEPT: Any city public assembly, parades, street fairs - the Security Advisor.
LOTTERY OR GAMING DEPARTMENT: State authority and local authority for any Bingo, Gambling Tables, or Lottery. If you are renting this type of equipment, the company will provide you information to their specific areas.
HEALTH DEPARTMENT: If you are serving foods, the State Health Licensing department should be contacted. If you have hired a caterer -- they will/should have their license available for your review.
ALCOHOL BEVERAGE & CONTROL (ABC): State Alcohol Use Permits, Responsibile Hospitality Tips and Day of Event Permits.
TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING: City Street Closing for Parades or Events, Parking Permits and signage rules for walks/runs.
PARKS DEPARTMENT: City, County, State and Federal Parks Reservations and the use for any public event or wedding must be reserved.
SALES TAX: Charges of this tax must be included when selling items -- depends on where event is held. County and occasionally the City has a tax.
